In "Laugh or Die (2018)," Parikka, once hailed as the Funniest Man in Finland, faces a dire situation as he and his troupe are on the brink of execution. However, Jaeger Lieutenant Nyborg, a fan of Parikka's talent, suspects a grave injustice. To save the actors from their impending fate, Nyborg devises a plan involving a visit from German General von der Goltz. By proposing a comedic performance for the General, Nyborg hopes to spare the troupe from execution and secure a new trial instead. Amidst the harsh conditions of the prison island, where hunger and death loom large, the actors face the daunting challenge of creating laughter in the face of adversity. With only a few surviving actors and the rest being stagehands, Parikka must tap into his creative genius to conjure up something humorous against all odds.
